Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, butterflied
  • 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, paprika, black pepper, and honey if using.
  • Add chicken and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
  • Preheat to 375°F.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and let excess drip off.
  • Place in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Let rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket or the chicken will steam instead of crisp
  • Remove excess marinade before cooking for better browning
  • Works with chicken breast or thighs (adjust time slightly for thicker cuts)
  • Letting the chicken rest keeps it juicy
