Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken any cut – thighs or breast work great
  • 3 tbsp honey slightly warmed for easier mixing
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼-½ tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, ginger, salt, black pepper, and cayenne until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the chicken and toss until fully coated in the marinade.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 12 hours for deeper flavor).
  • Cook using your preferred method: oven, air fryer, or grill until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (see notes).
  • Let rest for a few minutes before serving to keep it juicy and flavorful.

Notes

Quick Cooking Guide:
Oven: Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until cooked through and caramelized on the edges.
Air Fryer: Cook at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Grill: Grill over medium heat for 5–7 minutes per side until charred and fully cooked.
Chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
For extra caramelization, brush with a little extra honey during the last few minutes of cooking.
Store cooked chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can also freeze raw chicken in the marinade for up to 2 months.
