Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless chicken thighs
  • cup honey
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • tsp fresh ginger minced

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, water, garlic, and ginger until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the chicken thighs and toss until fully coated in the marinade.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
  • Cook using your preferred method (pan, oven, or air fryer) until the chicken is fully cooked and lightly caramelized. See notes.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving to keep it juicy and tender.

Notes

This honey garlic chicken works well on the stovetop, in the oven, or in the air fryer.
Oven method: Bake at 400°F for 22–30 minutes, depending on thickness, until fully cooked.
Stovetop method: Cook over medium-high heat with a little oil for 5–7 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
Air fryer method: Cook at 375°F for 16–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
For best results, don’t overcrowd the pan or air fryer basket so the chicken caramelizes instead of steaming.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
